The focus of the final night of the 2025 Habanos Cigar Festival was on the highly anticipated humidor auction. Indeed, amid fierce bidding, one Cohiba humidor sold for an astonishing 4.6 million euros (approximately 5 million dollars), setting a new auction record.
Originally, there were 7 lots scheduled for the evening, but this was unexpectedly increased to 10. Habanos surprised all the guests, taking the atmosphere to new heights! This humidor was designed by Ernesto Aguilera from Humidores Habana, standing two and a half feet tall and over four and a half feet wide, adorned with mother of pearl inlays and Swarovski crystals. The cigar drawers rise from the top of the cabinet, holding four sizes of Cohiba Behike BHK cigars, ranging from the 52, 54, 56 to the debuting 58 size. With a stunning exterior and impressive interior, bidding for this artwork quickly reached 3 million euros, then briefly stalled before rising again, ultimately selling for 4.6 million euros (approximately 4.8 million dollars). This was a record amount, breaking the previous auction record for a humidor (4.5 million euros).
The Montecristo humidor was the first lot of the evening to reach 1 million euros, ultimately selling for 1.7 million euros (approximately 1.77 million dollars). With a dignified design, the humidor references the gates of the famous Vuelta Abajo plantations in Cuba, guarding 400 precious Montecristo cigars.
It was sold for 1.6 million euros (approximately 1.7 million dollars). Its design blends bronze and three types of wood, showcasing the dignified image of the old Partagás cigar factory. Inside, it holds 455 Partagás cigars.
The bold and creative design comes from Romeo Y Julieta. The designer cleverly used bright red and gold to create an artistic kiss, embodying the brand's romantic image. The humidor holds 425 brand cigars and ultimately sold for 1.9 million euros (approximately 1.8 million dollars).
Montecristo humidors have always been popular. This uniquely tall, sword-shaped design was created to commemorate the brand's 90th anniversary. The sides feature a design of black inlays with golden squares, reminiscent of Behike. The humidor, with six drawers, is filled with 470 Montecristo cigars and sold for 1.9 million euros (approximately 1.8 million dollars).
Another Cohiba humidor at the event also featured yellow and black as the main colors. In the center, a golden column displays the brand's most iconic Taino figure, flanked by cubic elements on both sides. The humidor is filled with 520 Cohiba cigars.
